Fundraising for StandStrongAgain.org

So last season, me and a bunch of friends decided to work with StandStrongAgain.org and the Nickerson Foundation to raise money for injured skiiers and snowboarders with no insurance. It all started when our friend Skylar Bourne broke his back and didn't have insurance to rely on. So what do a bunch of snowboarders know how to do best? Throw parties. So we had a couple huge fundraisers including the Naughty Nurse Party, The Pirate Party and Santa's Little Helper Party in Park City, UT. Skylar was able to get the medical attention he needed and we were able to give back to our fellow snowboard community. And for including Revolution Manufacturing Snowboard Factory in Orem, UT I got to desigen my first custom board! It was such an honor to design it and even better to get a free snowboard. I love my sponsors!! Thanks Rev!

University of Utah Rail Jam

Today I got a press pass to the University of Utah Rail Jam. It was awesome to see some of the Revolution Team compete. I despise rails, so I just hung back and took some photo's.

The first female on the Lenitech Team!

So last season I went into Lenitech, an awesome local snow/skate shop near the University of Utah. I started chatting with Tyler, the manager and it turns out he worked for Revolution building boards. Since I have been working closly with Revolution in the past we started chatting. By the end of the conversation Tyler thought I could go ride with him and the owner to see if I could be on their Snow Team. We went to The Canyons and had such a fun day. Now I'm the first female on their team! Thanks Lenitech, I'll make you proud. To check out my profile go to www.lenitech.com/team.cfm

Injury numero dos

As we all know, injuries are just an inevitable part of riding. During the first part of January I pulled two ligaments in my right forearm snowboarding in the park without even remembering exactly how I did it. Now I have a permanantly swollen right forearm to match my permanantly swollen left forearm I injured wakeboarding.

And about a week and a half ago, I sprained my ankle pretty bad by simply catching an edge. My friend told me I flew about 100 feet total and he thought I was going to hit a tree and die. Good thing I landed a couple feet away in the tree well and walked away with only an ankle injury. I took about 9 days off and finally went to Snowbasin last Friday for DAY 14. I hiked over to No Name and rode down The Pyramids and got in some really amazing turns. I also found a wind lip that my friend Ben and I dropped. My ankle was hurting, but I was exstatic to be on the hill again.

Hope you have all been luckier than me and stayed injury free this year. And to those who just accept the injuries as they come and know they happen often, may they heal faster than it takes you to get your cheap date drunk.
